Figured out the chip programming finally. Kmarine ran the chip in his C1A1 and it worked he said. Vanhandr, it was the hex address I had wrong. Also was able to copy the newer 300M tune from my 2002 GT40. Opened the file and it's definitely different code layout than the E290 tune. I have no idea how to read it I just know when I opened both side by side they are different. Have not had oppurtunity to try the 300M yet.

Just heard from a friend at Ford. He is going to meet me after work tomorrow and test the wire loom. He has an idea what may be causing my boat to go into SLOW mode. The Moates chip and c1a1 ran exactly the same as the e290 computer today. Now I have to figure out why. I plan to continue running the moates chip computer and will keep everyone updated. THANK YOU everyone for participating together you have helped tremendously.

Just ran the boat on the water with the c1a1 computer and the moates chip with the e290 file. Boat ran excellent. thank you all for your contribution. If it was not for this tread and everyone who shared their expertise we would not have a solution for ecm replacement. Hope this helps many GT40 owners for years to come.

I have question....
Can an ECU be cloned? I know someone that has the same kind of boat as I do. I'm just wondering if I could have his ECU cloned for my boat as a backup.

I am not a computer expert. Yes I am sure the technology exists to clone these computers. Keep in mind First Ford did not allow their field technicians the ability to program these early computers. The chips are a one time rom burn. It is with a lot of research and diligence that these gentlemen have figured out how to copy and reprogram these files. With the help of people who use this technology for race cars, we have the ability to apply their experience to the marine world. I am greatfull for everyone's help It has taken me two years to get my boat running properly again. I have not received any help from pcm and the dealers I brought the boat to could not figure out the problem. It is with the help of people on the forums that I was able to learn and isolate the issue.

I'm not too computer savvy! I was hoping that you would help me in programming a backup for my GT/40?

Not sure if this is the right subject for this forum...Was just informed by my dealer (Austin, TX) that my 2000 PCM for GT40 has a bad EMM for the high pressure fuel pump driver. Bummer, no longer available. The PCM part number is R116009. Was wondering what options i have, if any....noting that new or upgrade from the oem (or Ford) is not avail. Options? 1) used on ebay is a risk; (2) not sure if there are repair shops that can repair the bad part of the board; Any assistance is appreciated.

Yes this is the computer. I posted a link to someone on this form who has a working 300 m for sale. he is selling a used working one for less than I spent building mine. the 300m is the computer for your year engine. Does your engine run at all ? this is the first time I have heard of this problem. did they check the fuel pump relays? Have you checked with another dealer? just checking all bases here.
