Oil Recommendation

Hoffer, plus one to using either, but i would recommend the WCF aka 10-40 marine first. this is what i am putting in my boat next change as i'm an amsoil dealer.

also, i beleive these boats (at least my 07) run FORD filters if you can believe it. GM block, with the ford oil filter pitch on the filter relocator.

Be careful on previous posts suggestion a GM filter, If equipped with the remote oil filter, proper filter is any of the following:
Motorcraft: FL1A, Amsoil: EA015, Wix: 51515
When changing always be sure the filter rubber gasket comes off with the filter, running your finger over the mating surface & visual check should confirm.

IMHO, 15w-40 will be better than 10w-40 since your not going to be running it in freezing or colder temps like a car...

Hi with Amsoil synthetic oil either oil will be so far superior than anything else you run, it will not matter. Just my 2 cents, I have running Amsoil for over 20 years, they make a great product and stand behind it.

I see that this post hasn't been updated for quite some time. I have a 2006 Ski Nautique limited. My oil pressure has been running quite high (sometimes over 80) until it's warmed up considerably, then runs closer to 65 at WOT. Last fall the service people put in 15W40 per the manufacturers recommendation. I called the Nautique dealer and they said they only use Amsoil 5W30 synthetic in all the Nautiques - they have approval from the manufacturer. They also said it should solve the high pressure readings I'm experiencing.

ebbjak I would point you to the bulletin released by PCM back in 2019 with their latest oil recommendations. Unless you happen to have a 6L engine in your boat, 5W30 would only be recommended under 50 degrees.

My local Nautique/PCM dealer put 5W-30 in my '07 Excalibur 330 last fall. I pointed that bulletin out to the service adviser, and quote:

"That is two years old. I do not have an updated one however as a PCM dealer this is the bulk oil we have chosen to use. My tech states it works for PCM engines at all temps & will be fine in your boat for the upcoming season."

So, I guess I am running it and hoping for the best. Not really impressed with his response, though.
