I Have the excalibur 330 in the boat. Engine idles high(1700-1900 rpms) randomly when pulled back into neutral. Not everytime but occasionaly. Anyone have an idea what the issue could be?

I have had a similar problem with an 05 w/Excal, dealer said it could be the perfect pass/throttle cable hitting the shroud or whatever you call the cover on top of the spark arrester, I removed shroud and problem was less frequent. My boat is at the dealer right now for that and a couple other problems.

I just had the same thing happen to me. Do you have perfect pass? If so look at the attached picture. And you will see the L adapter and the allen bolt. My L adapter an allen bolt started to corrode together causing the L adapter to stop spinning freely this was causing the cable to stop while the throttle was still open a little bit causing the high RPMs. I took it all apart and got it to move freely again and the problem is now gone.

RYANANDREWS your problem sounds like the secondaries are hanging up when you return to idle way to find this out is to run the boat and when the high idle problem occurs go to the carb and look and see if the linkage on the carb can be moved and the idle will drop down to normal. If it does then you must look at the cab because the throttle plates are hanging due to corrosion or wear to the throttle shaft.
