    Raw water pump and impeller

Hey everyone, new to posting here, but been reading for a while. I have an issue after replacing impeller.

I have a 2000 Nautique with the gt40 engine. I replaced the impeller and when I first tested it on thewater hoes I didn't have water flow out of the exhaust. I used a sherwood impeller ffor my boat and engine. Upon trying to diag the issue myself I realized that the impeller installed by the previous owner was a jabsco. Also upon diag I discovered that i have a sherwood raw water pump. I reinstalled old jabsco impeller and now everything works perfectly. Is this a sign thatthe raw water pump needs replaced? Has anyone else had similar issues?

    Thank you

Thank you very much for the advice. That must be the 1 I pulled out thatthe previous owner installed. The sherwood I installed is just a tiny bit shorter, and a tiny bit smaller in diameter. I was wondering if that was the 1 i needed. Just a question for my information, why wont the sherwoods original replacement work?

I really don't know but this is something you do not want to screw around with. Get the right impeller and all will be fine. I ran this model impeller in my GT-40 for 17 years.

Thanks Charles. I tested mine on the water hose this morning because I did a tune up to get ready for summer, and when I noticed something was not right it went straight back into the garage. I am pretty picky about my stuff being in 100% proper working order before heading out.
