2007 SV-211 removable rear bench seat

Newbie here, not to Nautique ownership but to this community! I have owned a Nautique for going on 20 years now, am somewhat of a DIY guy and for some strange reason I am just now discovery this awesome community! My current boat is a 2007 SV-211 TE which I have owned for ~8 years.

Someone jumped on the removable rear bench seat and cracked it in two. Can anyone provide tips on how to rebuild or replace the seat at a reasonable cost? Is it ill-advised to use plywood as the base? What is the original base made out of and where can I get that material to re-build the seat? I have a great upholstery guy here in town who can recover it for me. I can re-use the original metal retractable support and fixed piece that hooks under the cooler seat.

    Any and all advice appreciated!

I also have a 2007 SV-211 and my rear seat also snapped at the support. I asked Correct Craft at the time if they had some kind of retrofit kit/option because I was out of warranty and they sent me a brand new one at no cost even being out of warranty. You are obviously much farther from warranty than I was but it's worth a try to ask them. It really was a bad design, really my only complaint on the boat. I think they know it was a bad design too which is why they gifted me a replacement.

I would look at a product called king starboard. it would be a MUCH better option than plywood, which if it got any water intrusion would de-laminate, or warp.

King starboard! Will do the trick my friend. Welcome to the nautique community! Post some pics of your boat.
