    Low voltage at high RPM's

I have a 89 SN 2001 and while underway the voltmeter shows the voltage going from 13.5 down to 11 volts, then when I let off the gas it goes back up. Doesn't seem to affect it, but I wanted to know if anyone has seen that before? Had the alt checked out last year and it looked good. I also have dual batteries and a perko switch too, no AMP's.

RE: Low voltage at high RPM

This sounds like a grounding problem. Check that all of your negative grounds are corrosion free start at the battery then look at the engine ground then the ground to the dash. I would also chech to see if the perki switch has a problem it sounds like your alternator iis isolated hat hogh rpm. It might also e the voltage regulator. Sorry for the ramble.

      Check indeed the voltage regulator.
Also run the boat with an extern voltmeter on the battery. I find the intruments on those dashes very inacurate due to bad grounding of the meters.
