    What batteries are you running?

Found these today... not a happy camper as my batteries were fine before I took it to a shop who had it for 6 months... what batteries are y'all running I'm not sure if I should get the same or replace with something else... my boat has a battery bank of 4, 2 of them were not damaged, anyone had issues with optimal before?

Yikes! Any idea how that even happened? Were they hooked up to a charger or anything?

No clue what happened, my boat sat in the Nautique Dealership's shop for 6 months on an insurance claim, when I got it back the batteries wouldn't keep a charge, so I decided to pull them all out, and charge each individually to see which one was bad... and in the process of pulling them out found those two.

That's bizarre. It looks like one battery failed dramatically and leaked out the side. The other battery looks like it sat in the puddle created from the other one.

based on the location of the batteries not possible, however in the series they are wired side by side. It's almost like they were over charged, or the Amp draw was too high... but one of the batteries in that bank was fine.

Interstate golf cart batteries, refurbished ones cost around $75.

Deka. Had Optima blue tops, but I didnt think they held up over time as well. Deka is American made and quite a bit less expensive too.
