I purchased my boat a couple months ago from a dealer used. We ran it on the lake and it ran no issues. I've not started it since then. Today I washed the engine compartment installed the battery and it won't start. It does turn over with no issue, I installed a new battery. I can't find any videos online showing what the 330 engine sounds like at start up but I don't hear the fuel pump kick on after entering my code. I'm not sure if it's suppused to start up and shut off like most fuel injections but I don't hear it doing anything. I've been turning it over and over and I don't smell any fuel being spent it just won't kick or do anything at this but mist turn over. The only thing to come on is the bilge pump and then shuts off I don't hear anything else. The dealer winterized the boat after we tested it I'm not sure if it's the fuel pump or is there something wet I'm missing. I checked the fuse for the pump as well and it appears to be ok.

Ok checked that and still nothing. I removed it while the "all on" switch is in the on postition and put it back in place and the dash all came on like normal tried to start it and it just turns over and nothing more. Should the fuel pump make any noise at all, I guess that's my main question as to how it's getting primed before actual turning over?

Put your hand on the low pressure fuel pump and cycle the ignition on, it is externally mounted pump near the FCC. If no noise or vibration probably your issue. Try a new relay or swap with the other one for testing, if not the relay the pump is probably bad.

I had a similar issue....Took the boat out, ran fine for more than 20 minutes and then sputtered and quit. Tried to restart and it just would't start. The fuel pump is turning on, I can hear it.
Where do I start my troubleshooting? Pull fuel canister? pull spark plugs? How do I check fuel pressure?. I'm terrible at troubleshooting so any help would be appreciated.

Does anybody have direct replacement automotive parts for the Cap/Rotor and spark plug wires for the Ex330? There isn't anything special about these items but, I think the spark plug wires are longer since they have to go down and around the exhaust manifold. I don't want to order online and would rather just visit my local auto parts store.

Caps historically are different because they're ignition protected. Could be that's old school (e.g. screen over vent hole) from back in the days of points and perhaps there is no difference today. In any event, I wouldn't use one not designed for an enclosed space. I don't know about the rotor, but they're cheap and if you're getting the PCM cap, you might as well get the PCM rotor.Last edited by xrichard; 05-01-2017, 12:05 PM.Previous boats:
