Flush a 2005 211 SV Team?

Just picked up my 2005 SV211 Team edition Nautique :-)
it's got a closed cooling system but I'll use it on salt so want to know how to flush it after use - It hasn't got a fresh water flush kit - how do I do it? - What do I need please?!

You need to flush the manifolds after each use to keep salt from corroding the manifolds.

Open the hatch in the floor. You will see the pick up. Go to the hardware store and get a threaded tee that fits the intake hose, add a threaded female coupling and get a cap for it. Cut the intake hose, insert the tee, and you have a flush. Just shut the intake valve when you flush or you will burn up the impellar..

If you're going to mount something permanent, this is what I'd go with - I put it on my old 211 and it's pretty much foolproof. You'll need the one for the 1 1/4" hose.

so, I flushed from just past the filter in the engine bay. Is this ok or do I need to connect the T bar flush kit lower down before the strainer?

You didn't say if you're trailering or not. If you are, a Fake-A-Lake works great. I used one for years.

I'm in the same position, picked up a Marine Technologies Group Quick Flush in 1-1/4", brass, part GE 125. around the same price. I wasn't comfortable with the plastic Perko, lots of reported failures on the earlier model. I'm debating if I should install the flush kit before ore after the sea strainer/filter. I have access to both sides via the access hatch under the rear walkthrough.

I guess if I installed it before the strainer, you could leave a small length of hose in the bilge, if you needed an emergency bilge, you could shut the intake valve, open the flush valve and pump out the bilge, through the strainer, independent of the electrical system, assuming your engine is already running. If you mount the flush valve after the strainer, you would want to use a hose with a filter, similar to the one offered by Marine Technologies group, so you don't suck crud into your engine from the bilge.

I will mostly be using mine for redundant winterizing to make sure all the crevices are void of water.

Idle boat for ten minutes, fresh water hose attached to flush kit, heating oil and running Sta-bil Fuel Stabilizer through the engine, also opening up the thermostat. Once warm, switch valve at bucket to five gallons of enviro-safe marine antifreeze. Shut down engine once bucket is drained. Remove all water plugs, and drain engine as normal.

Basically a $100 part and $25 extra per season to ensure the engine, drive and heater are free of water. Also pumping one gallon of antifreeze into each ballast tank, and reversing pumps to make sure pumps, and tanks/bags are free of water. Basically, nine gallons of antifreeze ($40) = peace of mind.
