    SN 200 steering slop?

I purchased a 200 over the winter and am just getting my first outings in it. I am noticing there is more steering slop than there should be. Any ideas where to start? I could turn near a quarter turn before it turns. Once it responds it steers great. It just seems like a here is some slop in it?? Any advice is appreciated.

I'd look at the rudder assembly for any loose fittings or brackets that mount to the hull. I had a similar issue and found one of the two attachment bolts had come loose and was stripped out. I repaired it easily and it's working right. Other areas to look would be the helm and also the rudder packing.

I'll wiggle rudder assembly this week and see if anything seems loose. Bolts your talking about are from exterior to interior correct? Slop is at 34 mph from straight to turning is where there's delay. Our course isn't in yet but am nervous it could be challenging to hold a line.
