    Plumbing Ballast

Looking for input on ballast plumbing... Is it feasible to tap into the engine water circuit for fill and drain?

Hoping this is doable, but not sure if it might starve the engine for water, or take forever to fill, etc? Appreciate any experienced input.

You can tee a line into the raw water pickup before the pump assuming you are just wanting to use a single a pump. It won't starve the engine.

Do it the right way and just hole saw through the hull.

My best recommendation would be not to touch the engine water supply. If your gonna install ballast with pumps drill the holes for the pickups and run it the proper way.

I used 1-1/2 thru hull into existing hole from paddle wheel that I removed, made a manifold from 1-1/2 cross tee and ball valve, and it gave me enough water volume for 3 pumps.

Well I think I'm just going to tsunami it this season, and do a proper install next winter with thru hull pickup.
