    Fuel Filter O Rings Help

I replaced the fuel filter today on 2009 SAN and put it together, then fired her up. I noticed it was leaking so after digging into it more noticed that the o ring broke when putting it back together. Any suggestions to keep this from happening? I put gas on them as well, it was a tight fit. Does anyone know if I can just buy the o rings instead of the whole kit?

    Thanks for any help..

Your talking the fcc in canister one? It is tight. I personally would not use gas on them to lube. I use motor oil. It is handy. Probably would even be better to use petroleum jelly. Just buy another kit and use one of the o rings that come with it. I am sure you can reuse one or two with no problem when you change the filter the next time, cause if memory serves it comes with 3 and you use 2 of them.

Based on 100's of hours of experience looking at the fcc filter I have decided it is absolutely not necessary to change every 50 hours...

I plan to change the in line filter much more often than the fcc. I had 1,100 hours on my last boat and changed the fcc filter probably every 250 hours. The boat ran absolutely perfectly.

My recommendation and what i think i might do on my "new" boat is probably change in line filter every 100 hours and fcc every 200 hours. Although honestly, if one changed the inline like every 75 hours, you could probably change the fcc every 300 hours. I might do that. The fcc is very difficult to get to in 2014 g21 with 409. (See rant in different thread.) I have seen fcc at 300 hours and it was not all that bad, and that was with the inline filter filter not changed until 175 hours.
