    Oil Changes?

How often should we change our oil? Is it based on time or running hours? I have heard compelling arguments for both.

I would appreciate ya'lls sage advice...

I do mine ever 50 hours or at the beginning of each season whichever comes first.

      RE: Oil Changes?

I change mine twice a season. I always change the oil when I winterize the engine so it won't sit all winter with dirty oil (acids in dirty oil do bad things to bearings). I start the season with this new oil and usually change again halfway through the season.

Change it at the end of the season, and mid way thru if I get out as much as I like.

          Dont forget the tranny!

I do it at the same interval as the oil. By the time the oil is drained I can drain and fill the transmision. Why? It gives me something to do other than complain about the length of time it takes to drain the oil.

It also saves more beer for when I'm out on the water.

The owners manual calls for oil changes every 50 hours of running time. So it depends on how much you use your boat.

I do the same. I usually do the trans once a year at the end of the season, but I have let it go two years before.
