    Christmas Tree Stud Question

Has anyone found a good way to remove seat cushions held in place by Christmas tree studs without pulling the stud out of the seat cushion backer board? No my experience, once the stud gets pulled out of the seat back it opens up the hole to the point that the stud won't grab and hold when you try to fasten it back.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to do this without damaging the seat backer board?

I've had them come out as well. I just plug them back in without any issue. Those things are cheap if you want to replace them.

My problem is when they pull out of the seat backer board instead of the fiber glass it opens up the hole in the backer board to the point that it wont catch and hold the stud anymore. I'm trying to see if there is a trick to popping the stud out of the fiberglass and not have it come out of the seat backer board?

You can buy a set of trim removal tools. There won't be any trouble with backer board if you use them correctly.

Never an issue yet for me, but if it did happen you could put strips of tape around the edge of the hole to close the gap ,or possibly a little bit of gorilla glue.
