Had the gas tank disconnected the other day to do some plumbing work on the ballast and now the fuel gauge does not function.
The terminals were corroded so I cleaned them up, had the gauge work for a minute while playing with the connectors, then the gauge fell flat and hasnt moved since.
Can someone please explain to me how the gauge works, where it gets power, what voltage it should have, etc.
Would also like to know how to fuel level sensor works.
I am assuming the fuel sensor is a variable resistor and there is some voltage going to it which in turn varies based on fuel level and sends a corresponding voltage to the fuel gauge.
Is there a fuse on this system that I may have blown?
Thanks
