    Propeller for surfing

I have a 2000 SAN I am looking into buying a new prop for my boat because last year we had it weighted down and it wouldn't plane. Wakemakers recommends the acme 1587 and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this prop or any suggestions?

I use the 1587 on my 2003 SAN, I have 750's on each side, stock center, and 1000# in nose. It jumps on plane quickly. When surfing I use a Sucgate (core-rider design) weight boat evenly and shift people to list boat a little bit. The prop has never struggled getting on plane, even loaded with ballast and people. Hope that helps.

Thanks that does help, I'm going to order one this weekend i believe. How do you like the suckgate I picked one up at the boat show a few months ago and haven't been able to get the boat out yet?

Not sure if you mean the 1578... but that's what I bought. It's awesome. Maybe even overkill.

Yes that is what I meant. Did it affect your top end speed quite a bit? Woukd you recommend stepping it down a bit and going with a 856?

it did cut the top end to the mid 30s. I rarely every go that fast though and it is nice to have the grunt. I would buy it again but if you go fast, try something more mild.
