Nautique Seadeck Issues

I have a 2016 G23 with less than 40 hours on it. The gray/black factory Seadek seems to be shrinking and pulling away from the edges. In one area it is completely deformed and shriveled.

This is a Northwest boat, so not in the heat year-round and in indoor storage for the majority of the time. I was wondering if others have experienced something similar?

Sounds like a warranty issue to me. Have heard of it before on other boats from time to time, but Ya generally just a warranty issue and away you go.

Minus the shrinking you can buy weldwood by dap in red can and put it on the sea deck and the spot it needs let them dry and put it back down and smack it and it will stick

Looks like a warranty issue to me. I'd send a pic to your dealer...

To me (just as an observer) that looks like there was standing water in at corner for a time.
Good news it is covered by your warranty, bad news is you're not the only one... And in my opinion it is happening WAY too fast. Even worse, if you call seadec they offer zero support and refuse to even work with us, which actually really upset me, as an American company with a warranty- for them to refuse to even discount new or give me credit for the bad pieces, I was less than pleased. Mine lasted a year- didn't look like yours (my material was just kind of disintegrating not peeling), I took mine to my dealer just as it was approaching 3 years... They gave me all the replacement parts but I got to do all the labor... Not fun. Good luck, can't wait to see all these boats in 5 years and what Nautique chooses to do with the seadek failures.

I have no doubt that Nautique will take care of that bad piece. Their warranty is amazing. I was more wondering about peoples overall experience with the Seadek product.

The adhesive along the edges of the Seadek was visible on my 2011 210 as well. I'm not sure if this is from shrinkage or adhesive seeping out from under the Seadek. Does anyone know a good way to clean/remove the visible adhesive?

^^^Thats a tough one because you wouldn't want any adhesive remover to migrate under the Seadeck and start removing it.

I am pretty sure that it is from the product shrinking like s shrinky dink, not glue seeping out.

I personally never liked how adhesive was already on the sea deck coming from stand up jetski I will always want to use my own glue

I had the same problem with it around the edges. I used GooGone and dabbed it on a rag and was careful not to saturate the seadeck and it came up just fine. It was defiantly tedious so I just did 1 section at a time over a few weeks.

Did the Seadek thread get moved a couple of times?

BTW - Seadeck got back to me and is blaming the failure on the 2016 G23 on the geometry/design of the boat creating a "parabola" from the sun. Essentially they said the G23 should also have Seadeck installed on the curve on the front of the bow seat boxes to stop the parabola from occurring. "Light Amplification" is not covered by Seadeck, but I am sure Nautique will take care of their customers.
