BTW - Seadeck got back to me and is blaming the failure on the 2016 G23 on the geometry/design of the boat creating a "parabola" from the sun. Essentially they said the G23 should have Seadeck installed on the curve on the front of the bow seat boxes to stop the parabola from occurring. "Light Amplification" is not covered by Seadeck.
I had that happen on my 1st Boat. A piece of Chrome trim Melted the SeaDek from its magnified reflection. sucked.

Mine lasted a year- didn't look like yours (my material was just kind of disintegrating not peeling), I took mine to my dealer just as it was approaching 3 years... They gave me all the replacement parts but I got to do all the labor... Not fun. Good luck, can't wait to see all these boats in 5 years and what Nautique chooses to do with the seadek failures.
As expensive as this stuff is it should last much longer then it does, personally think this seadek stuff is garbage in that regards. Also lol at the fact they say it cannot be in the sun, seriously?? these are boats, lmao. Loving my 12yr old carpet that still looks brand new .

Oh come on, that's just absurd. There are thousands of boats shipped every year from Nautique and other manufacturers that come with SeaDek. So far we've seen a grand total of TWO here that had issues. Most likely a manufacturing defect. The OP needs to get his dealer involved for warranty replacement.

I don't know that it is absurd. Seadek has a three page document talking about parabolic effect, amplification, etc. that they sent me. It is complete with diagrams, geometry formulas, photos of a bunch of failures, and various examples of boat geometry that cause the issue. I wouldn't think they would go to that trouble if they have only seen it happen a few times - they have four photos of it in their doc alone.

Charles, check back in 6 years when your boat is no longer under warranty, couple friends started having issues with their seadek after just one season, I see this stuff as a potential maintenance item, whats worse is how much it costs, NP wanted $350 for just my platform, can only imagine what it would cost to do an entire boat.

I've had carpeting in all my previous boats. My old 230 had only a small amount of SeaDeck on the swim platform and sun pad walk through. So I don't have a lot of experience but after 5 years of use, I only had a small amount of SeaDeck separate layers and used a couple of drops of superglue to fix it.

The carpet was sometimes a bit of a pain. I had to remove it every weekend and hang it out to dry. Cleaning it wasn't exactly easy compared to my swim platform which was a simple scrub down and rinse.

I'm looking forward to not having carpet. I'll certainly be on the lookout for this issues pointed out here. It is expensive material but I get the physics here. I'm crossing my fingers here that this is a more positive experience overall.

EVERYTHING on a boat is a "potential maintenance item."

My neighbor has a 2013 G23 and his SeaDek is just fine. That boat has over 800 hours on it. Again, there are THOUSANDS of boats shipped every year with SeaDek and the vast majority of them have no problems. You're letting your confirmation bias get the best of you.

Confirmation Bias, lmao, OK. Hopefully for (all) your sake the stuff is fine. Maintenance Item as in the stuff fails prematurely and needs to be replaced!! IMO flooring in a boat should about last forever under normal circumstances, time will tell this tale!!
