Hello all, first time poster.
I am in the market for a used inboard for skiing and wakeboarding. Getting a boat we can do a bit of everything ($20-30k). Maybe a VDrive or at least Direct that has ballasts or we can add them if we want.
Not a lot available without saltwater use in Florida.
Looking at 2004 M/C 205V, 2007 Ski Nautique and a 2004 Air Nautique 216 LE. All boats are in great condition with 100-400 hours. My question is about the Salt Water usage and trying to confirm if there has been usage. The few salt water boats I have seen are very obvious as they have had 12+ years + 400-900 hrs of Salt or brackish water use.
They are asking $30k ($5k premium by the looks of things for super low hours) for a 2004 Air Nautique 216LE. Only 120 hours or so, and all of the boat supports those hours. Amazing condition and it looks great! ....they claim no salt water use, its priced with no salt water use, but the engine rust locations suggest at least some salt water use to me. Trailer also suggests at least some salt water use. Painted steel trailer with bolts that are pretty bad, repainted fender, etc. Rest of the boat is perfect. Is it obviously salt or am I jumping to conclusions? Thoughts?
Yes, I tried the 'rub your finger on parts and lick it' but no salty taste. Yuck, btw.
