    Hydro gate problems?

I have a 2008 SV211TE, I think I have an issue with the hydro gate. When it is disengaed, or forward in the sloloam position, for cruising or pulling the kids on the tube, it will not stay in that position. It jumps back into the wake position, especially when slowing. Is this normal, and if not, how could I adjust tension on the cable. I'm assuming it's only a mechanical cable. Any help? And thanks in advance.

Can't find anything else online about the gate's operation. And there's not a Nautique dealer within 150 miles

It's not normal. My 2008 SV211 stays exactly where I put it no matter what. There must be a way to tighten it up. Not by my boat or I'd look.

I believe when it is in the forward "slalom" mode it is engaged and not disengaged. In other words, in slalom mode is when it is dropped below the bottom of the hull running surface, so something is probably not tight enough to keep it there. Water force is probably pushing it back to wake board position. Can you tighten the screws that the plate slide on at the transom slightly?

Thanks guys. The boat has just over 1100 hours so screws may have worked themselves loose. I'll give that a shot when I get home tonight to see if that will be the remedy. Thank you guys again

Update!!!! The small ears that attach the hydro gate to the plate that slides up and down have broken. No big issue to fix, just hoping that the plate is stainless steel and not aluminum (stainless sheet metal is so much easier to weld). Just have to take it off and carry it to work one morning.

Thank you guys for all the input.

Can you post pics when doing it? I'm curious if I ever run into a similar issue. thanks!

Sorry I had already repaired the part the next day. I tig welded the small ears back onto the plate, along with two cracks that ran horizontally across the plate. Simple fix, easy to remove and reinstall. The welding is a little tricky of you're not used to welding thin sheet metal.
