i did this for my car and it's pretty amazing. This replaces the need to wax. Water beads and there is a 7 year warranty. The installer can do a g23. Has anyone done this?

Total for the G23 will run about $1300. Total cost for a wax at my marina is about $400. So for me it's worth it. It has made cleaning and drying my car so much easier. I wipe the G down after every use and imagine that cleaning will be just as easy with the hull. I also wonder if it improves the performance on the water. Just wanted feedback from anyone that has done this.

I have done Carpro Cquartz which is also a semi-permanent nano-coating on my 230.
Preparation is key.
The performance of the product is different since the boat lives in the water compared to a car. Water beading will be gone after few uses but I can see the product is still there after 1 year of use. To me it's totally worth it but you need 2 coats on gelcoat since it's very porous. I'm a weekend warrior detailer and I did it myself. Polishing, preparing, application, buffing. It's a long process but for me it's only the cost of the products so totally worth it. 1300$ for a G23 isn't that bad, it's a huge boat. Are they doing full hull (bottom to top) and interior???
As for maintenance, a good wash is important with soaps that are compatible with your product... You don't want to remove it.
There is also some quick performance enhancer you can use to keep it slick over the summer. Carpro sells the hydro2 and the hydrofoam which you can use when washing to add a small top coat over the existing coating.
As for the opticoat pro, it's available to pro detailers only since it's not that easy to put it on. My guess is that it'll be even more durable than my Carpro CQuartz.

Also look into Top Coats F11 product. It's an easier application therefor is cheaper. You can do it yourself. It has basically the same affect as Opticoat. Only thing is if you use F-11, you can't just wash the boat with normal soap. You need to use their water based washing product. Regular soap MAY strip the F11 off. But then again its easy to re-apply. I have actually used about all of the products. I have Opticoat on my Ram 2500, C-Quartz Finest on my C7 Stingray, and F11 on my GMC Sierra, my gf's BMW and my golf cart. Of all the products, I would have to say the C-Quartz is my favorite. Apply's like the Opticoat but IMO it works a little better. The F11 is second due to it's ease of application. In all honesty, a boat would be easier than a car to apply either the C-Quartz or Opticoat, therefore I would recommend buying the product and doing it yourself to save $. It's not really that hard. What makes it harder on a car is that the paint really needs to be clay barred and polished before application. With a boat I would just do one round of rubbing compound, one round of polish, then do the steps to apply the product. It does take some time, but you could save about a grand (off $1300 as posted above). Below is a link to the F-11, it really is a pretty remarkable product!

I store my G in a boattel and it's taken out of the water immediately after use. So I am really hoping it doesn't wear off as fast as living in the water. They are doing all the gelcoat including the bits in the interior. Thanks for the heads up on using the special wash soap. They gave me a bottle of this stuff. I'm 99% sure I'm going to get it done so I'll report back.

Also can attest to F11 TopCoat. So easy to apply and reapply every few wash cycles. Very nice bond. I've got it on 3 of my cars and on one not reapplying so I will give feedback on how long it lasts (2mo's so far).
Going on the new GS shortly.

I guess if you can afford a G23 then a 1300.00 dollar wax job would be normal. Even paying sombody 400.00 to wax seems insane to me. Certain things are a labor of love and for me keeping a spotless boat dosn't take that much time or expence.

One day when he's old enough I'm sure it will be something we could enjoy together. But try having a 2 year old wait for you to even wipe down your boat after a weekend outing. It doesn't work :-)

Wow seems like all the G owners have thin skin? I ment no offence but if you have 140k plus extra to spend on a 23' boat and 1300.00 for wax I think you could be considered two percenter on this forum. There is nothing to be ashamed of if you can afford then go for it . I make my living working for two percenters.
