    Ballast pump circuit fault

    2016 230

Running port ballast drain when I received a circuit fault for the port ballast. I was able to reset the fault and run the pump, although it still lists an error on the pump sender.

Anyone encounter this issue or have an idea what this is about?

My dealer is 2 hours away and I'm trying to decide if I need to tow it up at the end of the weekend. Thanks.

I just got this same fault last night. Draining to go home on got big error on screen. (2017 230 Linc 2)

I reset the fault and everything is working. Anything I should watch for?

So I am receiving the same fault on my starboard ballast. Our 'boat guy'' has reset several times but it keeps happening. Don't know why it is happening. I don't know how to reset the circuit - can you describe?

I got the same when I manually drain (ballast shift or manually fill a tank). Only got it once. If I use Go Home I have no issues. Pumps stop about 10-20 seconds after empty. Shop looked at it during service and could not replicate. I have not had the issue since. 2017 G23

Just checked this thread again. Dealer took a look at it when boat was in for another issue. They couldn't replicate.

First time out noticed issue was still there. Ballast screen is not reading correctly to the point it's not accurate at all. Pump seems to take longer to fill/drain although not 100% on that. I'm due for a routine service in the next few weeks so we'll see what they say.

I have experienced two circuit faults with my 2017 Super Air 230. The first was a starboard circuit fault warning when draining my bags, the second was a belly pump circuit fault warning later the same day. Both pumps shut down. Back to the dock with an extra 750 pounds in the boat. Managed to delete the warning on the Linc 2.0 and the pumps functioned. Waiting for input from my dealer, as the boat has 10 hours on it. Any advice or tips would be appreciated.

I've had this happen at least once or twice since my original post. I've learned to reset the fault and the pumps appear to work without incident. My dealer was not able to replicate the issue. Unless it becomes more frequent, I'll live with this little gremlin.

I have had the same issues since I bought my boat. The previous owner said the solution is to fill/drain bags one at a time. That’s not the correct solution, but it has not thrown any of those codes when I do that. Is it possible to replace the impeller inside the problematic ballast pump(s)? My inexperienced thought process is if the pump is working hard to compensate for an impeller issue it may be drawing more power and causing it to throw codes. I’d be curious if this makes sense to anyone else. I am going to swap the impeller on my starboard pump in the next couple of weeks.
