    Oil type

I was reading my manual last night and noticed it stated SAE 30 for oil type (2007 sv2007 w/PCM). However, the oil fill cap says 10w-40 if operating over 50°F (I am). Thoughts? What do you run?

I use Mobil 1 15w50 in all my boats since 1989 . 15w50 is the only weight recommended by Mobil.

The SAE 30 is fluid for the V-drive unit.

for engine oil it list 15W-40 for greater than 50f ambient and 5W-30 for less than 50f ambient in the PCM owners manual hosted here online. It is on page 28. I have had pretty good luck being able to find and use Chevron Delo in the 15W-40 weight. It is not a synthetic oil.

I run Amsoil Marine oil and have for many years. Don't skimp on oil. We let these boats sit for many days at a time them run them to death for 10 hours a day or more. When was the last time your truck or car engine turned as many rpms as your boat engine?
