I too was bitten by the barely adequate dash wiring on this model of boat. My problems started last year when I added both an upgraded stereo head unit and a PerfectPass. Everything was OK at first but then over time the PP started to act oddly including cutting out and/or having speed calibration problems. After a little research here, I discovered that the dash wiring is a well known problem.
The fix was to build two new switched circuits - one on with the ignition, one on with engine - with associated busses for hot and ground. I mounted the new panel under the dash by gluing some wood strips to the ventilation box and then screwing the new wood panel to the strips. Power and ground are taken direct from the battery with a large 10 gauge cord.
End result is great - no more problems. Stereo and PP work great. Also, have lots of switched ignition capacity for future items like an amp, USB port, etc.
Hopefully this helps someone else out.
