    1999 Air Nautique vibration

Got a question about a vibration that started this weekend. So we're up at Shasta, which had LOTS of floating and partially submerged wood, everything from twelve foot trees to twigs, and we were hitting small (sounded like) pieces pretty much all weekend and maybe a couple of pieces that sounded like they were chopped up through the prop. On the way back in on Saturday, we hit something that started a vibration at about 20 mph. When I got the boat back on the trailer, I found two small pieces of wood jammed into the front end of the prop strut where the gap is. I tried to pull them out that night but waited till the next morning hoping the pieces would dry out and make for an easier removal. Next morning I pulled both pieces out and cleaned all of the slivers left behind with compressed air. The prop shaft turned way easier than it did the night before, but I noticed there was a slight amount of side to side movement of the shaft. I kinda think that slight movement has always been there but I'm not certain. So we go out that day, water was sorta choppy in the morning, but flattened out in the afternoon, that's when I noticed the vibration at about 35 mph. I checked the prop before we went out and after we came back in and it looked good, no dings or bends just scuff marks, so I think/hope the prop is fine. Any thoughts, advice, tips are much appreciated!

Pull the prop and have it checked . Check the shaft and make sure its straight.

Almost for sure you have a flute on that prop that's just slightly bent. It doesn't take much. The fact that it only shows at 35mph means it's just barely bent.

Yeah, I think I'll look at it again tonight and see if I can spot anything. Thanks!
