2002 sante control arm change

HI Guys,

Can someone walk me through how to go about changing the control arm on my boat. The little cup that you pull up to engage into gear broke away from the wire piece. Also for some reason I cannot take the top ball off. Is there a trick to this? It is only the arm that I am looking to change.

I believe you're talking about the throttle lever. The ball just unscrews leaving, then on the chrome ring, the bottom has a little cut out and there is a hex/allen set screw that you need to unscrew and that'll take lever off.

Perfect. Call me weird but for some reason the ball doesn't come off the top. I keep turning and turning and nothing happens. Is there a lock or a pin or something.
