    Batteries on a 2012 SAN 230 TE

Hi everyone, if one forgets to turn the battery switch off, will the batteries be drained? I read somewhere that the linc system 2.0 will kill the power automatically after a few hours of inactivity. True?

I don't believe that to be true as the battery needs to be on to power the bilge pump should you dock it on a lake. Your battery switch should either be in the 1 or 2 position (NOT BOTH). You should alternate between the two settings (1 or 2) at each outing. Owners didn't understand this so they changed the battery switch entirely at some point in the last few years. I believe the BOTH setting was only if both batteries were low and you needed a kick from both to get the boat started.

The LINC unit may power itself off at some point but the batteries will almost certainly not be turned off.

On a 2012 TE with stock bilge pumps, the bilge will kick on every so often and check for water buildup. I would suspect this could probably run for a few days or week? before draining the battery. I've "accidentally" left mine on over night with no issues.

Does the bilge light need to be left in the "on" position for the pump to work or does it turn on automatically periodically.
