    Latch Ideas for Rear Hatch

So my 97 SuperSport project boat is missing the rear hatch hydraulics and brackets for mounting the hydraulics. Any suggestions of a clean way to install a latch to ensure the hatch doesn't come open while towing? This hasn't been an issue thus far and the hatch is fairly heavy... however I'm towing 10hrs to Lake of the Ozarks for the 4th of July and would feel better if the hatch was fully secured.

Hopefully someone else has dealt with this... thanks!

ID:	523724 Here's what I did but you have to remove the hatch skin to attach the brackets. I used a hatch latch, and 60# gas shocks. The bottom of the shocks are mounted to vertical 1" aluminum tubing running vertical from the underside of the deck to the floor. You can see where I secured them from the top.

I borrowed this this design from another member on here and so far am very happy with it.

Thanks for the suggestion Kyle... Looks like a nice setup. Do you happen to have details on the shocks and latch?

Sorry, I meant to post a link for the latch. Here it is.

The shocks came in a set of 2 20" 60# shocks from a seller named strut your stuff on eBay.

            Awesome... Thanks again!

I was leaning towards a pair of polished d-ring latches, but I really like the hidden latch you have.

Kyle, are you still happy with this setup? If so, care to post a few more detailed pics of the strut installation? This is exactly what I was looking for to do to my SV-211

Been running the setup all summer and it is great. No complaints. With the weight rating of the struts I have, the hatch will stay in any position I put it in and stay. Will try to post a few photos.
