    Engine Overheating

Engine is overheating. It maintains temp at 160 when idling or just in gear, but temp rises if throttle is given. Changed impeller. Checked water filter and intake. I would think a broken thermostat or water pump would cause overheating while at idle too after time. Engine is a 2008 PCM343. Any suggestions?

Did you use a Sherwood impeller? When you replaced the impeller was the old one destroyed, if so you may have rubber pieces up around the thermostat blocking water flow. Also when the motor is running do you see any air bubbles in the water filter. Just a couple things to check.

Yup. Was you're impeller shredded? If so you have to blow out the lines and remove all the debris In the line. If you didn't just enough water would sneak through at the low rpm , but when you get on it and it needs more flow it would be too restricted
