Broken tensioner

Got 2017 G23 back today from 25 hour service and belt tensioner broke. Anyone experienced this? Advice?

I've never seen that and my advise is to take it back to the dealer for warranty repair let them figure it out.

should just be warranty a new tensioner and belt. impeller will be ok since its belt driven. should be in and out at the dealer at least.

I am curious if they had any idea on the cause of the failure? I had the same exact situation happen this weekend. Picked up the boat from 25 hour service and was out running when we got an overheat alarm. As we opened up the engine compartment we found the broken tensioner and belt laying on the ground.

Well, seems like a trend...25 hrs as of today..surfing, son hears a pop...boat shut's down, towed in..will call the dealer in am..will see how it will be handled..

I just had the bolt that holds the tensioner break at about 20 hours in a 17 G21 and the day I took it in for the repair I received a letter from PCM about a recall to have that fixed.

Ya, the kid said this sounded like a gun went off..thinking it flew off and hit the transom..I will be contacting Nautique and see if I was on the list to get a notice..

Just had mine replaced today under warranty at 38 hours which was my 25 hour service.

Definitely a wide spread problem. Happened today at 25 hours exactly

There is a service bulletin for these. My dealer replaced mine when they were doing the fuel line service bulletin. Mine did not break but they replaced with a new one that is beefed up in the area where they are known to break. The technician mentioned that only certain serial number engines are affected by the service bulletin.

just FYI to all of you that have to pull the boat out, tow to dealer, etc... it's extremely easy to replace. one bolt, just need to look at the belt routing diagram, and slap the belt on there.

Has anyone else had this issue yet?

I have a G23 with a H6 (6.2L), the tensioner arm is gone, you can see in the photos where it sheered off completely and left a mark on my harmonic balancer. I have yet to find the pulley for it yet.. I have a great connection at Nautique that got me connected with a PCM rep today to get a new one sent to me. Since my selling dealer is 4 hours from me and they are closed on Monday's. Supposedly PCM has not had this come up yet. Just sharing! I have roughly 40 hours on my PCM H6..

Oh, and my friend in his Tige' was loving every bit of it..
