    Low Oil warning PCM 330

    Hello All,

Just as the title says I am getting the low oil warning when firing up the boat. I have checked and keep checking fluids, and everything is spot on. Anyone with experience, can you tell me if this is the sending unit or anything else maybe?

    03 SANTE 330 PCM

    Thanks in advance.

I was getting a low oil pressure warning on my previous boat (Malibu with Indmar) but the systems really are very similar. I checked all the grounds, undid the gang plug at the engine and cleaned all the contacts. replaced the pressure sending unit.... still had the problem.

Started having battery charging issues. I replaced the alternator and the problem went away. My suggestion is to see if you can find someone that can check the alternator and see if voltage is fluctuating. I found out later that when the diodes in the alternator regulator start going out you can get voltage swings before the regulator fails completely.

The Indmar had two oil pressure sensors. One to the engine management computer and one to the computer that runs the gauges, etc. On that system BOTH alarms would go off if you really had an oil pressure issue.

Hopefully someone can give you some PCM specific info.

Makes sense, and testing that is the cheapest start too. I will try that and then go from their. Thank you!

Does the low oil warning light stay on or does it go away in a few seconds after you start the boat?

My 03' will give warning for about 2-3 sec and go away. I attribute it to the remote oil filter needing to develop pressure, I think because it's remote the lines need to get up to pressure before the oil pressure sending unit can recognize the oil pressure.

Sorry was out camping! So it chirps on start up and then immediately goes away. I did not know they had remote filters. Also, somewhat new to the boat so I was not aware if it were a true issue it would stay on, is that the case?

            Thanks!
