Ski Nautique 200 Battery Box Doesn't Drain

The battery box in my Ski Nautique 200 OB tends to fill with water and either doesn't drain or drains very slowly over the course of multiple days. What could be causing this? we tried unclogging the hole with a cloths hanger, but that didn't seem to fix the issue. Even when the water finally does drain out of the box I can still see it sitting just under the box in the drain... Any ideas?

I’m having the same issue. Any thoughts from the community?

Why are you taking on so much water?

Not really taking on a lot of water. Do need to tighten up the packing but isn't leaking enough to get the bottom of the battery box wet. Yesterday felt along the divider on the bow side of the engine compartment and there seems to be a small drain hole along the bottom. introduced a wire and did get some water back but problem still happening. May just need to plug it off if can't figure out how to improve the drainage and keep the battery compartment from getting water in the bottom. Strange.

            For what it's worth...

When I first got my boat there was a lot of water in there. I originally thought it was coming up from the hull, but when I power washed my carpet I learned quickly that the water was coming from the carpet into the battery box. I just unplugged the hose and was good. My boat doesn't get too wet inside so it hasn't been an issue since.

So a few things I was considering?
            1. Where is the water coming from? Is your hull really so filled up that it's coming up from the hose? Does your carpet get real wet and it's coming in from there? Is your bow eye loose and it's coming from there onto your carpet and then into the box?
            2. If you remove your battery and soak up the water from the battery box do you see it coming back up from the hose?
            Mike

              Thanks for your input.
It is actually dry on the trailer and when in the water you can see some water coming up through the drain plug itself. Prob only 1/8 inch but still wet.
