XR550 Limp Mode??

So we've had a bit of a slow start to the year and I've only had my boat on the water 3 times so far. The first 2 times we only had driver, passenger, and rider. With full ballast I thought I was getting up to wakeboard speed rather slow but didn't think much of it. Yesterday we had 5 people in the boat and it took over a minute to get on plane with full ballast, not the 550hp I'm used to. I also noticed my max rpm at full throttle is 4700rpm, I believe it should be 5200 right?

I have no faults showing on my engine diagnostics. I winterized it with a full tank of premium plus stabil. Could bad gas be putting it into limp mode? Any thoughts? It's still under warranty but dealer is a 6hr drive.

Doesn't sound like limp mode, rpms would be a lot lower. but definitely loss of power. hope someone can chime in and help.

Limp mode would throw a code and it would allow you to get up to the high or rpm. Supercharger bypass valve stuck open maybe not creating any boost?

Do you hear the supercharger coolant pump running? It runs for 3-5mins every time after you shut the engine off. Black pump located under the air filter.

supercharger absolutely won't produce boost if that pump isn't running.

Im on the water now. Intercooler pump is definitely working. WOT is still 4700rpm. Still no codes.

Topped off with 93 and 2 bottles of octane booster before I came out. Any other ideas?

Are your coolant levels good in both reservoirs?

two options.

take it to a Nautique Dealer for service.

Call PCM directly +1 (803) 345-1337 extension 133 ask for Mike Genna. He is awesome.

he can authorize you service at any PCM dealer. Centurion, Supra, Moomba etc.
