    2013 G23 surf pipe question....

Just got it this summer and I've noticed sometimes that there is still exhaust "gases" coming up from under the swim deck when surfing. Like the pipe needs to be a tad bit longer so the gases stay down in the water. Anyone else experience this too?? Any remedy?
I put an FAE on my older 210 and never had an issue. AND, with both boats parked side by side looking at the rear of them you can see that the FAE is longer by a few inches.

My 2013 does have steam/gas coming from the exhaust when surfing on the regular side only. But I have never smelled exhaust so I think it might be water vapour actually from the hot exhaust hitting the water.

How hot can an FAE get? Does it ever get hot enough to burn someone if they happen to touch it?

No, it doesn't get hot enough to burn you. You can grab it right out of the water. It's warm to the touch but it won't burn you.

Mine is exhaust gases and vapor. When I sit on or at the step down part (at the rear cooler) of the walk through I can smell it pretty good.

The pipe itself no I wouldn't think so but the gases coming out at full throttle for sure would be.

I called Larry at Fresh Air Exhaust a few weeks ago to discuss this exact question(length of Nautique surf pipe seems shorter than the FAE versions). I had a FAE on previous boat and installed it myself so I knew that the exit point of the pipe was to be approx 2 inches above centerline of prop. The Nautique surf pipe is 4-5 inches above centerline of prop if not more. Suffice it to say Larry was very familiar with Nautiques version of the pipe and he admitted that this has been brought to his attention before. I suggested he start making an extension for the Nautique version to add a couple of inches of length and I think we would have a quieter boat and fumes pushed deeper under the water. He said he is interested and asked if I'd send him an email to remind him after the summer rush and include pictures.
