    Engine Noise Help

Hi guys could use some help diagnosing an issue that just started with my PCM 330 Excalibur engine. It is making a clicking type noise with the rpms of the engine, noise increase with throttle. Kind of sounds like air escaping to me. Doesn't seem to be any lose of power. Putting my hand next to the starboard exhaust riser feels like hot air blowing, not the same feeling on the port side. Here is a video of the engine at idle, sorry for the bad video was concerned finding the issues while taking it lol https://goo.gl/photos/YJL1LArLivtqty6N9

Almost for sure an exhaust manifold gasket. What you're hearing is exhaust gasses escaping from the riser.

This is usually accompanied by the engine being down on power. With the cover closed, the exhaust gas makes it's way back into the intake and well, it doesn't really burn so well..

Ok I will check that out. Do you think its most likely the riser to manifold gasket? Or manifold to head?

Most likely manifold to head. I say this because my brothers 2007 SV-211 did exactly the same thing. It isn't really a horrible repair. It's DIY if you have decent skills and a torque wrench.

It did indeed end up being the gasket between the manifold and head. There was a paper gasket there that had blown out. Wasn't that bad a repair but didn't help being on a dock in this Florida heat. Thanks for the input, it helped!

Awesome! Glad you're back going again. It isn't a horrible DIY repair. The part is cheap, too.
