    Error code?

Can someone tell me what code this is? I cannot find it anywhere.

Looks like you're out on the lake... So, I'll show you what OBD says for that code.

Did it you have any issues starting it?

The camshaft position sensor (CPS) sends a specific signal to the PCM for Top Dead Center on the compression stroke as well as signals indicating the position of the cam sensor. This is accomplished through a reluctor wheel attached to the camshaft that passes by the cam sensor. Any time that the signal to the PCM is inconsistent with what the signal should be, this code is set. NOTE: this code can also be set by extended cranking periods.

A code P0341 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
    • Cam sensor wiring routed too close to spark plug wiring (causing interference)
    • Poor wiring connection at cam sensor
    • Poor wiring connection at PCM
    • Bad cam sensor
    • Damaged reluctor wheel
Often relacing the sensor fixes this code, but not necessarily. Therefore it's important to check the following:
    • Check that the wiring isn't routed too close to any secondary ignition components (coil, spark plug wires, etc.)
    • Visually inspect the wiring at the sensor for any burn marks, discoloration indicative of melting or chafing
    • Visually inspect the cam sensor for damage
    • Visually inspect the reluctor wheel through the cam sensor port (if possible) for any missing teeth or any damage
    • If reluctor isn't visible from outside the engine, visual test can only be done by removing cam shaft or intake manifold (depending on engine design)
    • If all checks out okay, then replace the sensor.

      My 2 cents...
That is the generic info.... not marine specific

      On a side note...

My personal experience with that code in OBDII is that high resistance grounds and voltage surges can sometimes spur a random cam position code. They seem to be somewhat "sensitive" to their environment. My truck threw that code and I isolated it to a bad ground between the truck body (PCM) and the engine. Cleaned the point and changed the ground wire and haven't seen the code again.

Went out tonight. The boat doesn't show any speed and cruise control does not work. It now gives these codes. Boat runs fine temp, voltage, and oil pressure all okay.

Note: the error code doesn't throw until you are up to speed.

Assuming ect is engine coolant temp ... And you're getting the crank position... And it seems to be happening once the engine begins to make power (which also means that the alternator is beginning to generate 14.4) It really sounds like there's a ground issue between the engine( where those senders are) and the battery or the chassis to engine. A loose or corroded battery cable would be my first thought... Likely a ground cable...

The speed sensor though... I bow out on that. I have no idea how that signal is generated... I would assume gps?

Has as the boat recently been exposed to a storm that might have got the computer or dash display wet? Also... What's the year and engine in the boat? If it's still under warranty... I'd let the dealer chase the issue.

The ect code threw because the impeller went out and the boat got hot and went into limp mode. The code just hadn't been cleared. From what I can come up with on the roadway speed loss, and the speed not working is the GPS puck being bad

Bump: can anyone tell me how to switch from GPS to Paddle wheel in the LINC? Thanks for all the the replies! Pretty sure the GPS puck just went bad.

Turns out the power wire in the bottom of the GPS puck had come out. Back together and going now! However, the boat is still throwing the first code I posted. DTC 341 CAM input signal noise. I'm thinking this is ECM related? Boat still runs fine. No misses, pressure/temps/voltage fine.
