Fault Code 3104 inlet metering valve open or short to ground. Stopped and won't start

Had the tow of shame today due to the engine quitting and got the above code. Switched everything off including the battery switch a couple of
times. Starter turning over but engine won't crank. It states that the source is the fuel sender. I have an appointment with the Nautique Dealer on the 11th which is the soonest they can start trouble shooting. Thanks for any help.

Good news is that my local dealer Race City Marine got out to the boat quickly to get it repaired. Many thanks to them for getting there so quickly at this crazy busy time of year. Bad news is that they are replacing harnesses and control boxes and throttle stuff and removing the intake manifold and replacing gaskets in the process and and. Parts ordered from PCM and hopefully back on the water before too long. All under warranty. Hope you don't see this code!

Update. Got it back after almost a month at the shop. They replaced the complete wiring harness. Good for about 300 yards. Back to the shop. Argh.

Wow, These new boats sure are nice but looks like they can really be a challenge for the average dealership to repair.

And the saga continues: About to be week 6 out of commission.
First thought to be fuel filter which was replaced 30 hrs ago. Then thought to be spark plugs. Also replaced 30 hrs ago. Dealer doesn't have the spark plug so may get in today and will work on next week..... Really? Now I'm told checking different connections with PCM technician because maybe something else. Super frustrating. I have skied behind Nautiques for years that were rock solid. Is it the H5 engine? Bad luck? Too complicated for the service technicians? Bad programming at PCM?

Any idea what finally ended up being the problem? My 2018 G23 threw this exact code last weekend (memorial day weekend) and the dealer checked what they called "simple stuff" and needs to get with PCM to troubleshoot further. Code min threw was DTC 3104 Inlet Metering Valve (IMV) Loop Open or Short to Ground just like yours started with. Just turned 52 hours... :-(

Wow, surprised you guys are experiencing problems. At 300 engine hours replacing plugs, plug wires and filters that are essentially "new" is just busywork to say they have done something when in fact they don't know what the problem is. PCM should be all over this because if it happens to one it can happen to others and that is going to cost them serious coin and bad PR.

Summers are short, need boats to run so fun can be had. More so with new expensive boats.

In case someone ends up with the same issue, here's what eventually came of things for mine. First, apparently, Nautique has a "system" that dealers service department techs can log into and enter error codes at. The system usually provides troubleshooting steps for them to follow. In this case I was told by the dealer that there were no steps listed and they were only instructed to call in. There is a three hour time difference from here to Nautique so there was a limited "window" each day for this to happen. Also, since it's the busy season, I'm sure there was other stuff in line ahead of mine. Anyway, after some basic troubleshooting with Nautique the dealer was instructed to contact PCM - also a three hour time difference. The issue ended up being a loose connection for the high-pressure fuel pump. Once this was corrected, the boat fired up. I grabbed the boat and put some hours on over the weekend - all function returned to normal, I'm happy to report.

And mine turned out to be a bad spark plug. Bunch of hours since then and the boat has been great.

2018 g23 H6 coastal engine. Build last July 2017. Had the prop shear on Father’s Day weekend 2018. Dealer fixed it and got the boat back last night. Surfed all day and the boat just threw the DTC 3104 error. Checked all connections. Unplugged and plugged back in fuel pump connections. Now waiting on a tow. 53hrs on the boat. 2nd tow this month. Very disappointing.

I just got this on my 2016 G23. From this thread i see "The issue ended up being a loose connection for the high-pressure fuel pump." Anyone know where the high pressure fuel pump is?

Wait.... They had your boat for over a month, replaced your boats wiring harness and it turned out to be a bad spark plug?
