Ended up being high pressure fuel relay, which may or may not have been overloaded due to very low fuel.

Service claims was a loose connection. Put another 20 hours on it this weekend without any issues related to that but still some electrical gremlins popping up, Steering assist working about 50% of the time -- yes below 4mph, and the wave adjustment required a hard reset when we would tone it down for novice riders as it wouldn't go back up to a 5 for the better riders. Hard Reset and it worked, thrusters still super random as to when they work and dont...

G23 2018. Got the code on day one of a camping trip out at shaver lake this weekend. My prop also came off from a bad v drive shaft last year, I had a cup holder cause a fire, and my underwater light turned off with a caution code on screen. The dealership told me Nautique is way backed up. I told the dealership that I thought nautique was the best. They assure me it is, but I gotta say, I've never been stranded in the middle of the lake, due to product issues, on other boats I've had. Nautique is by far the best boat I've used, but so far, it's also the most disappointing.

Just got the DTC 3104 code yesterday and saw this old post. Has there been a consistent fix for this? Dealer is contacting PCM but no results yet.

That code is really pretty straightforward. It's telling you the ECM saw an electrical fault on the wiring to the inlet metering valve. It either saw a case where the circuit was open, no current was flowing, or a case where the circuit was shorted to ground, too much current flowing.

The inlet meting valve is specific to direct injection engines and it controls the amount of fuel being feed into the mechanical high pressure fuel pump. Since these direct injection engines use extremely high fuel pressures, compressing fuel to those pressures warms up the fuel quite a bit, so you don't want to pressurize a lot more fuel than the engine needs. Otherwise, too much warm fuel gets sent back to the tank and will raise the overall tank temperature. The inlet meting valve controls that fuel volume being sent to pump and it varies the amount based on engine power demand.

I think there are a couple of reasons why you see so much FUD surrounding people having this code. Direct injection engines are fairly new and more complicated than earlier non-direct injection engines. I think most dealerships are struggling to find or develop the skills to handle the complexity of these engines.

Secondly, I think it's likely you may get this code when there are other problems going on at the same time with the direct injection system. I think it would be mistake to chase this code too myopically. You need someone with the skill and experience to step back and look at the overall functioning of the direct injection system. And to fully utilize the diagnostic tools available to evaluate the logged data and potentially capture additional data on the next occurrence of the issue.

With the complexity of these modern engines, it's not realistic to take the approach of "the problem didn't happen for us when we tried it, so it must be fine..."
