    2002 SANTE starting issue

My 2002 SANTE will start after it sets all night and runs great as long as you don't kill it. Once you kill it the engine won't start until it sits for a few hours any ideas. It acts like there is a relay getting hot or another component? I drained the water separator, verified fuel at the fuel rail, and battery voltage.

You sure the fuel relays are working? I'm guessing there's an electrical connection issue. Back then there was a TSB to rework the fuel relays. I think there is information someplace here. The relays sit on top of the engine just next to the fuel filter, may try messing with the connections next time it happens.

There needs to be a thourough thread/checklist on this topic (assuming yours is GT40). Did you drain your filter at the bottom or pull it out? One thing that I have done during inspection of the filter is to remove and make sure the terminals going to that pump are clean and getting a good "squeeze" on their connectors.

Do you hear the pump prime when this occurs?

I apologize for the late response it was the two relays I picked them up at NAPA for like $15 bucks just to troubleshoot. Worked like a champ so I ordered the original waterproof relays. No issues and I've taken it out about ten times since. Thanks for the help

That's great! But, aren't the replays one and the same from Napa? I have replaced mine with Napa's and the don't seem any different from the ones that were in my boat.
            Is there a difference???

Mine weren't they didn't have the water proof boot on them. They also didn't have the metal tab that allows you to screw it back down.
