Have a 2014 210 and have been running with a 1617 prop.. Dinged the prop yesterday(again) and have it sent in for repairs today. Yesterday I tried to go fo a quick surf and the wave was horrible with my stock(I believe its the 1579) prop. Should I change the weight distribution to make up for the prop change? Have 850s in lockers over stock and 550 in the nose. Usually, run everything full with the 550 in the front half full.. Trying to decide if I'd want a 1617 as a back up..

I have a 2012 210 with nss so my hull is slightly different. But I just switched to the 1617 from the 1579. You are right the 1617 is do much better.
But I surfed fine behind mine with the 1579. But my guess is you are too heavy. I have 1100s in the rear with piggy back up front plus 200 lead in the nose.
For surfing I would fill the backs about 2/3 and the belly full plus just some in the overflow. Imln my experience if you put too much weight in the nose the push is gone. Try reducing weight especially in the nose, you can surf with the 1579.

I'm running a 1617 as well. Lost about 2 mph on the top end but hole shot is great. We are on a small lake so speed doesn't really matter for us. If you do a search, Jeff had a thread on here a few years ago with all the props for a 210.
