2009 Nautique 195 Engine Light on No Start

I have a no start condition. It cranks fine, confirmed fuel pressure and ignition relay is providing power to coil.
i get a check engine light - 5 seconds on, .5 seconds off. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I assume the check engine light sequence is a clue.

Familyman Even though the original poster hasn't been on the site for over two years, I'll give some input to your issue.

The check engine light likely has nothing to do with the issue. The light is on when the key is on and engine is off because the oil pressure is low at that time. Once the engine cranks (even if it doesn't start) the oil pressure rises enough to turn the light off momentarily, but it will come right back on if the engine doesn't start once you stop cranking it.

Check the simple stuff first. Is the lanyard connected properly? If so, I would bet there is an issue with the key switch or the wiring on the back. If the run wire is disconnected, it'll crank and not start. Same with the lanyard wires on the back of the connector.

Could also be a fuel delivery issue.

You might also try pulling the dash and cleaning the contacts in the two big plugs between the dash and the rest of the boat.

Thanks for taking the time to write Jeff... I have a PCM 330 (2007 211). Was out last week heading out from the dock at about 20knots then the boat just died (slowed to a stop). Turns over fine but wont fire back up. Over the past week I've done the following:
- Checked lanyard switch (its 2 wire and can hear fuel pump start/stop when exercising it so assume its working)
- Drained FCC (no water in fuel)
- Checked fuel pressure (+/-55psi at the rail)
- Attempted to check for spark with my old induction timing night and nothing. (not at cylinders or at wire between coil and distributor)
- Given above I ordered a new ignition coil and from Whitelake and just replaced it this morning. Still nothing (no apparent spark?)

Came back to laptop to help research. Will head back out to test following:
- Ignition relay
- Check contacts you mentioned between dash
- ???

Update (still no luck) - Engine cranks but no apparent spark/start:
- Checked lanyard switch (its 2 wire and can hear fuel pump start/stop when exercising it so assume its working?)

- Checked for spark with timing light = no spark (not at cylinders or at wire between coil and distributor)
- Replaced ignition coil
- Tested Ignition relay (swapped with fuel pump relay and both worked)
- Checked wiring harness in multiple places (dash, ecm, etc) and all wires/terminals appear ok ( I have a keypad if that matters).

Could the knock sensor cause no spark? Does the crankshaft position sensor go bad? Haven't messed with either of those yet. Anyway to test/find the "run" wire that Jeff was talking about. Appears there are 4 wires coming from the back of the keypad but they appear to be in good shape and disappear into the abyss

I'm out of ideas and unfortunately am at the point of towing it to a dealer to see if they can do a diagnostics unless anyone else has ideas. Thanks

Quick update. It appears to be the ignition coil wire. Shook/pulled on the wire while cranking and it fired up. Ordering a new wire.

If that wire is bad, you should replace all of the spark plug wires.
