    2010 SANTE 230 with a 343 engine **Knock Sensor**

    Hey Group,

Got the boat out on the water this past weekend and she was purring like a kitten till all of the sudden I got a "Knock1 Sensor is either open or missing"! This light came on while running at surf speed (10.8) and fully loaded. Once I let off it went away. I then ran her back up with the surfer and it came back on. So, I shut down surfing and ran the boat slow, fast, power turn, ect. and the light ever came back on.

I opened the engine hood and i could see both of the knock sensors in the block so I am not sure if i have a bad sensor or bad gas. I would have assumed a bad sensor would just be on or at least keep the "Check Engine" light on. As of now its just logged in my ECU and NO check engine light.

Anyone else have this issue? I have done some reading and found a good amount of issues with these sensors but no indicative answer.

    Thoughts?

Try putting some octane boost to see if your problem disapear. That way you'll know if it's the gas or the sensor.

check the fuel quality like above said. you can bleed some off by removing the cosmetic cover and using the shraeder valve on the fuel rail, it has a valve stem cap on it (or it should)

i was under the impression the knock sensors are under the intake manifold and you can not see them with it installed? least that's how my 07 6.0L is set up. idk why the 343 would be different.
