    2000 nautique bogging out.

    Good afternoon,

I have a 2000 SAN with the 8.2 python motor. It starts and idles fine but I am having an issue when I start to give it gas. If I slowly accelerate it will plane and get up to speed, but if I accelerate fast it will pick up speed and right when it is about to plane it cuts out and drops down to an idle. When I have it in neutral and rev it up it revs up no problem and doesn't cut out. It will do this around 4 times in a row then be fine for a couple times and then start doing it again. I really don't know what the issue is it doesn't make sense to me. I just replaced the spark plugs at the beginning of the season too. Any help would be appreciated please and thank you.

Sounds like a fuel filter issue to me.

Just went through a similar thing with my Python, but my issue was that the boat would stall out after a loss of power.

Ended up being my low pressure fuel pump, it could not keep fuel in the FCC for the high pressure pump to supply the engine under load. I also replaced the short rubber hose inside the FCC, as its a know issue with these setups.

There is only one filter in the FCC system and its in the canister, change that guy out while you have it apart... as long as you can get the canister to unscrew, its a easy job.
