    Gauges maintenance on a 2001

Hello planet nautique, first time post here but I'm celebrating 15 seasons on my 1988 SN2001. This season I decided to do some gauges maintenance on account of some smoke coming out from behind my dashboard and the circuit breaker popping last time I took it out. So I'm gonna start with the gauges that don't work which is the voltmeter and what I believe to the electrical gremlin, the engine temp gauge. I'd like to know if there's any information out there as to how to access these gauges and how to get the dashboard off. I can barely reach these gauges from under the dashboard so I assume it's got a come apart. Any advice would be appreciated

Not sure if it changed in 88 but on my dad's 87 barefooter I had to reach from underneath and behind the dash through an opening they had cut to loosen the two bolts on the U mounts and then pull the gauges out from the face of the dash. I was an even bigger PITA than it sounds. With the right positioning I could get my head far enough back there to somewhat see but some of the gauges you are going blind.

    Also, see this post:

Usually one of the major culprits of the voltage issues with these boats is the way they daisy chain them together from the factory. We eventually rewired all the gauges in the dash so voltage would quit dropping when barefooting at night with the lights on.

That's what I was afraid of. Also that link has every ski nautique but the 1988. Does anyone have a 1988 ski nautique 2001 wiring diagram?

Never mind the bulb housing came out of the gauges and came in contact with hot leads, all I need is new bulbs and housings
