00 Air Nautique Prop Shaft removal ?

    Hey guys,

Over the weekend my son ran aground and bent the prop and shaft. I'm wondering how hard it is to remove and replace? Any special tools needed, etc. Any help is appreciated.

    TIA,
    Mike

Don't know about removal.....but, I had some fiberglass damage along with prop and shaft and the struf. And...I didn't see it myself. Even after close inspection. It took the dealer to find it after removing the strut.

Removal and reassembly is difficult with the shaft/coupler. On the newer boats, the shaft is double tapered which makes the job very easy. I'd leave it to the dealer. Of course, if your shaft is bent, now would be a good time to upgrade to a double tapered shaft.
