For the last 2 seasons I have been experiencing an increasingly more frequent miss in my 502 Python. It isn't always there but seems to be coming more frequently. This engine has 430 HP and I'm running an Acme 536 prop with 2,000# ballast and 650# passengers @ 3,000 feet altitude. When it's on it's game it is smooth and handles this weight with absolutely NO PROBLEM. When it goes into the shuddering , however, I can barely get a Surfer to 9.8 mph. I replaced the Distributor Cap and am going to replace the plugs this weekend. I'm thinking of getting new wires (RK120011A) but want to Ohm-out the existing ones first.
My question is... How the heck do you get the Distributor Rotor off?. It doesn't seem to "pull" off and there don't seem to be any bolts/screws etc.?
