How do I check Gas level out of water???

Dumb noobie question of the day

I have a 17' GS20, how do i check gas level out of water?

When i press start once for electrical to start b4 starting engine it stays at 0%?

Need to press start twice....second light comes on and gauges read. Thirds press starts motor

Keep in mind if you are checking this while on the trailer, the level may be different due to being a little more "bow down". On mine it reads a little lower on the trailer.
