    Oil coming out of dipstick?

My buddy has oil coming out of his dipstick on his 85 ski nautique. The oil is not milky and is under the full mark on the dipstick. He said oil only comes out when he is past 2,000 RPMS. Do any of you have any ideas what this could be?

The one time I saw this it was a blown head gasket. They can blow in such a way that compression leaks out of the cylinder and into one of the oil channels. When this happens, the crankcase pressurizes and the oil gets pushed up and out of the dipstick tube.

You may want to check the pcv valve on the valve covers. You may have excessive blow by. a compression test will determine if you have a bad cyl.

Yes. Check your crank case vents.

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. It was just the PCV valve. Gotta love the simplicity of the older nauti's!
