Has anyone done this while continuing to use the built in switches to control the reversible pump? I'm having trouble figuring out how to complete this. There's a thread on wakemakers about using an alternate switch on the Malbu panel (https://www.wakemakers.com/resources...witch-diagram/) but this seems incomplete. We get that we have to use relays. I can't figure out how to get this to work, how do I connect this for alternating polarity without shorting?

This looks like it would have the answer if I could get the wiring diagram, but I can't get it to download, anyone able to help?

This is the best/easiest to understand diagram I can find online to copy and paste a link for you. In your mind.....just replace the lock actuator with your jabsco pump. One relay will be to fill and the other for empty. This is how I've done a few.
Not being rude at all. But, if you cannot decipher how to wire it up from this diagram then go find yourself a good mobile electronics technician and pay him/her to wire it up.
Hope this helps you.

I was able to get it figured out, I couldn't wrap my head around using 87a. From the basic tutorials I had been reading where people just used relays as on off switches, it made it seem like 30 was in, and 87 was out. Finally I was able to get that its just a circuit, and there's no direction to it, more or less about 10 minutes after posting.
Anyway we got a few of these https://smile.amazon.com/Pack-EPAuto...terproof+relay, which came with the nice harnesses so this seems to be ok. The wires a little lighter than I'd like on the harness, but it works and is clean.
Took it out testing today and the pump works perfectly, but I get the same issue as the final comment in the other thread, dash cuts out when I kill the pump if I'm underway.

You may need to add a diode across the relay coil to avoid current surge when the relay de-energizes. This is common when relays or solenoids are used in electronics. Google relay and diode, you will find examples and explanations. I would have said run to Radioshack to buy a test diode, but they are out of business. If you know someone that works on electronics, they can supply you with a diode of the proper size (not physically, but electronic capacity). If you are totally out of luck, send me a PM and I'll mail you one.

Would switching to a relay with spike protection be enough. I see a couple relays listed with spike protection, like the below

That should work. I would verify the resistor is ACROSS the relay coil.
Here is a good link (see the bottom of the page for specific diode and resistor details). http://www.accessconnect.com/car_relays.htm

You should be able to go to a local car audio installation shop and ask a tech for a few diodes. They have them for when wiring mobile security systems and stuff. If you make friends with a shop they'll probably give them to you as well as all sorts of miscellaneous small items for 12volt wiring like 5 pole relays, resistors, diodes, scrap wire, etc.... They usually order that stuff in bulk for when it's needed to wire in security systems and other types of mobile electronics accessories but never itemize charging for those small items because the shop labor and component markup is so high.KEEPCALMANDWAKESURFON
