2017 G23 LINC PANORAY Screen Bubbles

Anyone else have or see bubbles in their screen? Just picked our boat up today, thought it might have been a screen protector or factory cover... looked closer and there are at least 3 small air bubbles in between the screen itself and the glass. Kind of like when you have a bubble under a screen protector on your phone.

Asked the dealer about it and they said it was "normal".... I don't think so, was curious about what you guys think?

Oh no, that sounds like its a widespread issue.... lol. They don't seem to move, they are behind whatever layer of glass on the touch screen. Not sure how they layer these screens vs something like on an iPhone when it comes to the LCD meeting the glass, either way there are multiple bubbles in all 4 corners. Just kind of an eyesore for a brand new boat with 4 hours on it >.>

Bottom left, bottom right, and top left... there is a spot on the top right as well, just having a hard time getting it to show up at night with a flashlight lol

HAHA. no no no, Just dirty/looks worse when you hold a flash light directly on anything reflective like that

True, it's small... but I just feel like a boat at this price point this isn't something that should be considered "normal" that's why I wanted to see if there were any other 2017 users that had any screen bubbles. Maybe after everyone wakes up tomorrow there will be some more input

I'd gripe about it, but not until I had more important stuff to add to it.

I wouldn't hesitate to raise it as an issue. It may be small and immaterial today but could also be an indicator of a manufacturing defect on this screen that could cause premature failure or worsen over time. Speak up now would be my approach.

I'll try and bypass the owner and just speak with a mechanic directly, most of them are pretty friendly and if I can bring it up in conversation they might get the ball rolling. They are already going to replace our starboard side seat bolster on the bow of the boat, the reef blue section had some epoxy on it, they tried scrubbing it with a magic eraser but damaged the vinyl. When it goes in for the 25 hour service and to have that replace I'll bring up the screen

Off season is always best for trivial repairs. You get better/faster service then too. No point in killing summer useage for that. Go enjoy that thing.

Plus, those bubbles may grow by then and help your case.
